Man's dismembered body cut into over 10 pieces: police

SHISUI, Chiba --An autopsy on the dismembered body of a man found at an apartment here shows that the body had been cut into more than 10 pieces, which are thought to have been stored in a refrigerator and other places, prefectural police said.

Emi Takeuchi, 25, was arrested on Sept. 13 on suspicion of damaging and abandoning the body of her alleged brother, 21-year-old Ryo.

She admitted to the allegations during questioning. "About two weeks ago I dismembered my younger brother with a knife. I did a bad thing," she was quoted as telling investigators. Prefectural police believe the body discovered at the home in Shisui is that of Ryo, who lived with her.

Police allege that Takeuchi put the dismembered pieces into plastic bags. From the cuts, multiple knives appear to have been used, and prefectural police confiscated several kitchen knives. They also found multiple places in Takeuchi's apartment with suspected blood stains. According to prefectural police and local residents, Takeuchi and her brother lived in the home alone.
