Here are winning entries for Mumbai Mirror's Mahaganesha contest.

UMESH BHABAL, Ganeshbaug Sarvajanik Ganeshutsav Mandal
This is a picture from the Ganeshbaug Sarvajanik Ganeshutsav Mandal in Sewree. It is a 30-year-old mandal. “I am very glad that I got the highest votes,” said Bhabal who clicked the picture with a mobile phone.

“We have always publicised social causes through the festival. I am happy that out picture got several votes,” said Mangesh More of Ganeshnagar Sarvajanik Mandal, Ghatkoper West. “Last year, we had highlighted the issue of female feoticide. This year, we decided to highlight the infrastructural problem with the Mahad tragedy,” said More.

“We do not rely on any sponsors. All the residents come together to organise the festival,” said Mahesh Powar, member of Shri Siddivinayak Sarvajanik Ganeshutsav Mandal. “We are all very that out Ganesha has got plenty of votes.”

Chaundkar, the treasurer, said their mandal completed 52 years this year and is very popular in the area attracting thousands of devotees. “This year we have created the Raj Mahal or the King’s palace and the idol is made by a famous artist in Chinchpokli,” he said.
