DEHRADUN: Rain lashed isolated places in
Dehradun, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh,
Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital district on Tuesday, according to the meteorological department. Met officials have predicted continued rain activity till September 16.
Between Monday night and Tuesday morning,
Haldwani had received 130mm of rain. Mukteshwar and the city of Nainital witnessed heavy showers and recorded 72.2mm and 66.2mm rainfall respectively.
Dhari in Nainital recorded 66mm rainfall.
Pantnagar in Udham Singh Nagar district recorded 53.6mm of rain whereas
Dharchula in Pithoragarh received 55mm of rainfall. In Garhwal region, Chamoli district received moderate showers with Karnaprayag and Garsain recording 30.6 and 32mm rainfall respectively.
Talking to TOI, Bikram Singh, director,
Meteorological Centre, said, “A few places in the state, especially the districts in Kumaon, have received good rainfall in the past couple of days. The rain activity will continue, although with reduced intensity, at least until the morning of September 16. Intermittent light to moderate showers are likely to lash isolated places.”
