Benelli’s New 150cc Motorcycle In The Making
Benelli is working on a new 150cc sports motorcycle and planning to enter the entry-level sports motorcycle segment. According to a leaked patent image, the company is working on a fully faired motorcycle, and is expected to enter South East Asian markets.
Benelli is building this motorcycle on a new single-cylinder, liquid-cooled platform and is speculated to be named as Dragon 150. While Benelli has already got a 150cc motorcycle in its global arsenal. Although this new motorcycle is completely built on a different platform.
Taking a closer look at the patented image, the chassis is hidden, swingarm and other parts are different than the TN 15. The fairing and the design is based on the Benelli Tornado 302R. Alloy wheels and the tail section has been completely designed from the scratch.
The Benelli Dragon 150 is expected to hit the Chinese market in 2017, with the other Southeast Asian countries to follow the same. In the Indian market Benelli Dragon 150 will go head on with the likes of Yamaha YZF-R15 and Honda CBR150R.
