Anantapur: In view of the violence in Karnataka over Cauvery water dispute between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, bus services from Andhra Pradesh were reduced as a precautionary measure.
Following burning of several Tamil Nadu buses in Bengaluru, APSRTC authorities in Anantapur assessed the situation and cut down on the services. Out of the total 73 buses to Bengaluru, only half the number were operated on Tuesday.
Since Tuesday was also a holiday on account of Bakrid, the cutting down of the services did not affect the travelling public much.
As a precautionary measure, the authorities will continue to operate fewer buses until the situation in Bengaluru improves.
