Three people from a family were arrested and 15 more were booked by the Madurai rural police on Monday following complaint by the doctor of a private hospital that she was threatened.

Citing the complaint filed by G. Sudha from Divya Hospital in Othakadai, police sources said that a woman from the family was operated at the hospital recently for a complication in her gall bladder. She was later shifted to two other hospitals for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the woman’s relatives allegedly came to Divya Hospital and demanded the reimbursement of expenses incurred in two other hospitals. They also allegedly threatened to cause damage to the hospital.

The Othakadai police have booked a case under Hospital Protection Act and arrested three men, including M. Sathish (26) and M. Ilaiyaraja (22).
