A large number of residents of Mahadev village is at the receiving end as they are getting contaminated water supply as the main pipeline of the Irrigation and Public Health (IPH) Department got damaged about a month ago.

As per the information, the main supply line which feeds thousands of residents of the village situated on Sundernagar-Karsog Road was damaged at many places and water was seen spreading and collected on the road.

According to residents, they have asked the field officials many times to resolve the problem, but still the officials of IPH Department never bothered to do the same.

Moreover, at many places on the road, a pool of water could be seen and when the water supply was stopped, the contaminated water flowed back into the pipeline which further was supplied to households. Repeated complaints have been made in this regard, but to no avail.

Meanwhile, Executive Engineer of the IPH Department, Sundernagar division, said he had not received any complaint in this regard. However, I will enquire the matter and the problem will be soon resolved, he added.

Interestingly, most of the employees of the field staff were local, even then they never bothered to repair the damaged pipeline and were playing with the health of thousands of residents of the village.
