Thieves leave homeowner handwritten note of what they stole

Dopey thieves broke into a Houston home on Monday and swiped electronic equipment, oddly leaving behind two grammatically-challenged notes confessing to the crime in child-like handwriting.

The uneducated thieves hopped a fence to gain access to the property on Bexley Drive and then kicked in a back door to enter the house during the afternoon hours while homeowner Joseph Alvarado and his daughter were out for the day.

The crooks allegedly ransacked the place, stealing a Playstation off a mantle in the living room and then going upstairs to snatch the daughter’s laptop from her room.

The daughter came home first and found the front door ajar. Then her father returned and discovered the two notes littered with misspellings.

One of the letters stated: “I stole your suffe because my borther told me not to.”

The other note started out with the word “We” crossed out. The writer then scrawled, “I broke in … haha … and took your PS3, controlers (sic), games, and computer…by: a kid haha.”

Alvarado was emotionally crushed after reading the childish letters because he teaches special education to middle-school kids.

“It’s just heart-wrenching to read that stuff,” Alvarado told CBS-affiliate KHOU. “It is super hard just to know that this is somebody that made the wrong choice. Somebody decided to kick open somebody’s door, break some items and take some stuff and thought that was a good choice.”

Alvarado also told the TV station that he’s increasing security at his home.

Houston Police investigators have no suspects in the case.
