Get power connection through app in 24 hours

MUMBAI: A good news for those applying for new electricity connections in Bhandup-Mulund, Thane and Navi Mumbai areas. With the infrastructure of sub-divisions being strengthened, those applying for new power connections through the MSEDCL’s mobile app, will be ‘assured of a new connection within 24 hours’, officials stated on Tuesday.
A senior official said: “There are selected locations across the state where consumers can get the power connection within a day and only when the application is made with help of the app.” Sources said that one of the objectives is to ensure that more users are registered with the app and use it for other purposes including tracking and paying bills, providing meter readings, lodging complaints and giving feedback, etc.
In Mumbai Metropolitan Region, the areas where one can avail this facility includes Bhandup, Mulund, Thane, Vashi, Nerul and Panvel. The list of all the locations of the zone, circle,division and sub-division are available on www.mahadiscom.in.
“It has introduced this mobile app so that a consumer can directly apply remotely from the location where the new connection is required. You have to scan documents/ID and residence proofs and send it online. With the help of this mobile app, as soon as the application is received; the official, technical and other information will be entered by engineers and employees of MSEDCL to make it available online,” the official added. So far, 4.75 lakh consumers have already downloaded the app from Google Playstore.
