Sushant Singh Rajput's rendition of celebrated cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni just proves that this biopic, MS Dhoni - The Untold Story, is going to huge! During the shooting of the film itself, we had seen glimpses of what SSR was up to as he prepped and shot for the film. However, little did we know that the actor managed to get in too deep while portraying Dhoni's role in the film. We know how actors give it their all when filming a biopic and make sure they get to the roots of the persona they are playing and do justice to it. Looks like Sushant might be the one to do the same to Dhoni. Already the euphoria around MS Dhoni - The Untold Story is gaining a lot of limelight. Add the charm of the actor and we're convinced that this man is going to ace it! The trailer itself gave us a good peek of how magnanimous this movie is going to be. And just a few moments ago, SSR shared a video of himself hitting shots like the cricketer himself while people in the video are saying, "Mahiya Maar Raha Hai" Dhoni is known very well for being a brilliant cricketer and one of the biggest assets to the sport in India. People literally worship the cricketer. Having said that, it is all the more crucial for Mr Rajput to make sure he nails the role as Maahi. And this video just proved that he sure as hell has brought back the long haired young cricketer back in our lives! The makers shared one more video where both Dhoni and Rajput are featured. When the actor was approached for this role by director Neeraj Pandey, there was no way in hell, that he would've rejected it. He even stated, “There was no way I was going to say no to this role. Once I was on board, I knew I had to prepare and change myself completely for the film. We decided to plan my routine and training accordingly so that once I began shooting, I was more like a cricketer than just a hero.” Of course, what we'll be seeing on big screen is going to be a big deal to everyone involved in this film. Being a cricketer's biopic, there was a lot of training and workout sessions that Sushant underwent to perfect his physique and looks to that of Dhoni.

In an interview, the actor had also stated how gruelling the whole routine was as he had to get the shots right. “The first four months was just training in getting the shots correct. From cover drives to defense, square cuts and then wicket-keeping. Everything I needed to know about playing cricket to be able to pull off the role. That was a pre-requisite. Kiran Sir is a taskmaster. We used to start at 5-5.30 am every day with 45 minutes of warm-up drills, which is more than any intensive functional training that you know, and then I would pad up. Everyday, he would decide one shot and I had to play that shot for the whole day. I would practise it, on the bowling machine for at least 300 times for about two to 2.5 hours. Then a break of 30 minutes and another one to 1.5 hours of wicket-keeping. The first few days were so painful because at 29, in your head, you think you can do it easily, but your body isn’t used to such routine. Plus, there’s a posture that you need to sit in for keeping. You need to flex your butt and then put all the pressure. It was a completely different dynamic. I got the hang of it after a long time. The first four months were only about looking and playing like a professional cricketer, " said the actor.
