Magomed Nurbagandov Execution Video: Facing Death From Islamist Terrorists, Russian Cop Delivers Death Stare And Tells Colleagues ‘Keep On Working Brothers’

Magomed Nurbagandov is being hailed as a hero in Russia after a gruesome execution video surfaced showing the police officer giving his Islamic captors an angry stare and a defiant message to his fellow officers delivered just seconds before his death.

The 31-year-old police officer was actually captured and killed back in July, but the full footage of the execution just surfaced this week. It shows Nurbagandov on his knees after Islamic terrorists had raided his camp in Dagestan, Russia, the Daily Star reported.

The militants had reportedly killed Magomed’s cousin as he watched, and by the time the video clip started, they had turned their attention to him. The attackers held him at gunpoint and demanded to know if Magomed’s police identification was him, and then forced Magomed to deliver a message.

“Tell your colleagues,” the terrorists demanded.

“Tell them what?” Magomed answered defiantly.

“To quit their jobs,” the man answered.

But Magomed, on his knees and facing certain death, had another message.

He delivered a cold stare to his captors and answered, “Keep on working brothers. What else is there to say?”

A video hosted by the Daily Star cut out at that point, but the report noted that the men then shot Magomed in the head, killing him. Separate videos hosted online show the aftermath, with Magomed’s lifeless body slumped against his tent.

Magomed and his cousin had been camping in the forest when the militants came across them. As RT.com reported, the terrorists searched the pair and found Magomed’s police papers.

Militants had already released the video of Nurbagandov’s execution, but it was an edited version that showed only his death. As RT.com reported, police later found video of the full encounter that showed Magomed’s bravery.

“However, the footage omitted a few seconds that didn’t play well for the militants. Police found the full video on the mobile phones of the murderers after some of them were killed, along with other militants, in two separate operations last week, according to authorities.”

Since the video of Magomed Nurbagandov’s execution has surfaced, he has earned the nickname “Russian Robocop” and won the praise of Russian officials. The Daily Star noted that they have even vowed to thank his family for his sacrifice.

“We will meet with Magomed Nurbagandov’s family to personally thank his parents for bringing up such a decent son,” the news outlet quoted a Russian leader.

There has been continual conflict in the Dagestan region of Russia, which Newsweek noted was still a traditionally rural area when the Soviet Union collapsed 25 years ago. As the last part of the nation to urbanize, the process of bringing the region up to modern times, an effort that can take many decades, has been compressed into “two short and violent decades,” the report noted.

As Newsweek noted, this has led to continual conflict in Chechnya, Dagestan, and Ingushetia.

“Many Russians now link the Muslim populations of the North Caucasus with extremism and terrorism. That perception is not entirely without basis: the North Caucasus region has been rent by war, terror and brutal state crackdowns for over two decades.

“But the story of the territory is as much about rapid social change as it is about conflict. Russian state policies over the past two decades have done much to build today’s pipeline of radicalized extremists originating from the North Caucasus to spread across Russia and beyond to the battle zones of the Middle East.”

The death of Magomed Nurbagandov has at least a sliver of a happy ending. Authorities in Russia were able to capture the four men responsible for his execution, and Magomed is receiving a posthumous award for his bravery.
