GGR Group driving standards forward

GGR Group continues to show their commitment to FORS Gold transportation standards, through the introduction of a new eco-friendly DAF CF 460 FTG Euro 6 Truck and Tri-axle self–steering 39,000kg Machinery Carrier  to their  fleet.

With this new addition GGR have advanced transport solutions for all types of delivery and collection requirements by drawing on its current fleet which includes vehicles from 3.5 to 32 tonnes.

FORS (The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) is an accreditation scheme encompassing all aspects of vehicle safety, fuel efficiency, vehicle emissions and improved operations for transport fleets.

GGR started their journey with FORS in 2013 and since then have increased their vehicle delivery fleet by 42.86%. With the investment in equipment and training, they have been able to show definite improvements in safety and awareness of drivers and vulnerable road users.

Peter O’Grady, of F&G sales, delivered the formal handover of the new truck alongside Adrian Richards, GGRs Transport Manager, at GGR Headquarters in Manchester, on 1st of September 2016.

Adrian said “We have been FORS Gold for the past 2 years promoting and attaining the FORS standards.

GGR has reduced small vehicle movements where possible by consolidating load. This has been achieved by investing in specialised larger load capacity vehicles and the planning of our hire fleet delivery’s and collections.

By increasing our flexible transport fleet, GGR have been able to invest in the latest vehicle technology focusing on the environment in reduced emissions and the safety for other road users.

With vehicle side scan, forward side and rear cameras fitted, the driver has the highest level of vision whilst driving on our busy congested roads.

GGR have invested in improving drivers skills in awareness of vulnerable road users, the drivers have completed Safe Urban Driving and FORS e-learning to ensure they are and promoting vehicle safely.
