Former Olympic medallist Norval to conduct camp at Bopanna's tennis academy

BENGALURU: Indian Davis Cupper Rohan Bopanna's tennis academy in Yelahanka, north-east Bengaluru, will conduct a Boot Camp under the guidance of noted coach and former Olympic doubles medalist Pietie Norval in September.
The Rohan Bopanna Tennis Academy, a facility that aims to develop the skills of players at the junior level, will host the camp from September 17-25. Doubles specialist Bopanna will also be part of the nine-day camp with the South African Norval.

Open exclusively to youngsters looking to enhance their tournament game, the RBTA Boot Camp will offer intensive training sessions over three hours each morning. Featuring competitive drills, advanced skills development and individual tutorials on fine tuning specific aspects of the game, the camp will create the perfect opportunity for youngsters looking to take their game to the next level.
The daily program will also include an intensive fitness session conducted by trained fitness professionals, the organizers of the camp said in a release on Tuesday.
An Olympic silver medallist in the 1992 Barcelona Games, Norval has won a French Open mixed doubles title in 1999 and the ATP World Tour Masters doubles title the following year where he defeated Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes in the finals,
In addition to being the holder of 14 ATP Tour doubles titles, he has a Global Professional Tennis Coach Association - Level A coaching license and has been on the job for over a decade, Norval has served as coach of the South African junior national tennis team and trained several leading past and present international players.
