SUKKUR (Dunya News) – Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly, Khurshid Shah has said that Nawaz Sharif could have expectations of goodwill from Narendra Modi, his Indian counterpart, but the opposition doesn’t.

While talking to the media after offering Eidul Azha prayer, Shah said that Pakistan People’s Party was a democratic party which could become part of a protest aiming for strengthening of democracy but not of the one that corners one.

He complained that the premier was not giving importance to the Parliament and reminded him that it was the Parliament that ‘saved his boat when it was stuck in a storm.’

He pointed out the debilitated conditions of highways stating that Dr Farooq Sattar’s road accident came after he wrote a letter.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has said that Raiwind was quite a big area and the premier was not occupying all of it as his house. The site where PTI would demonstrate protest would be several kilometers away from the premier’s residence.

Qureshi offered Namaz-e-Eid at Dargah Bahauddin Zakariya and conversed with the media afterwards.

He said that almost all the opposition parties were invited to take part in the protest against PM’s alleged corruption.

He criticised Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Pervez Rashid and said that the government could not spare its leader and other corrupt people in power by empty rhetoric.

PTI resorted to protest in Raiwind after it got disappointed by the Parliament, Speaker of the National Assembly, Election Commission of Pakistan and Supreme Court, Qureshi complained.

When asked about Dr Farooq Sattar’s road accident on Monday, he said that he did telephone him to inquire about his health but Dr Sattar could not come through.

On the occasion, he reiterated his assertion on government’s determination to end injustice and making sure that each one of the citizens gets its rights and is not denied what he is entitled to.

Governor Rafeeq Rajwana offered Namaz-e-Eid in Badshahi Mosque, former premier Yousaf Raza Gilani offered in Darbar Musa Pak Shaheed, Punjab Law Minister, Rana Sanaullah, Federal Minister for Water and Power, Abid Sher Ali offered prayers in Faisalabad while Rehman Malik, former interior minister offered Namaz-e-Eid in Islamabad’s Faisal Mosque.

Newly sworn-in Deputy Mayor of Karachi, Arshad Vohra offered Eid prayer along with locals in the metropolitan.

Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, President of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam and Chaudhry Pervez Elahi offered the prayers in their hometown, Gujrat.
