State government to hold 'Start-Up Chh'garh' today

RAIPUR: Chhattisagarh government will organise its start-up promotion event 'Start-up Chhattisgarh' at Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Professional Management and Technology on Tuesday.
To integrate its initiatives towards promotion of start-ups in Chhattisgarh, the state government is launching 'Startup Chhattisgarh' from 09:30 am.
Chief minister Raman Singh will launch 'Startup Chhattisgarh' along with dignitaries including industry minister Amar Agrawal, Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC) chairman Chhagan Lal Mundra, chief secretary Vivek Dhand and department of commerce and industries secretary Subodh Kumar Singh.
The state government would launch its action plan for promoting start-ups in Chhattisgarh and announce for boot camps covering all 27 districts of the state.
The boot camp would be a state-wide campaign to identify potential start-up ideas which can be incubated and turned into successful business ideas. This event would be an apt platform for budding entrepreneurs and students to interact with successful start-ups of Chhattisgarh.
Some existing and successful start-ups would also put up stalls and a small exhibition during the event to explain about their idea and their journey from ideation to implementation.
The officials of CSIDC department said that this event would provide basic information about start-up ecosystem and would ignite their urge to be an entrepreneur.
Recognizing that the new startup wave is a major job creator and the agent of change for prosperity, Chhattisgarh government is committed to promote new ideas to become established ventures by developing a conducive startup ecosystem.
This would be done by coupling various policy initiatives available with various departments of state and Central government like DIPP startup India, innovation policy of Chhattisgarh, food processing policy, EODB initiatives of dept of commerce and industries. Preference will be given to startup in priority sectors, healthcare, animal husbandry and value addition of core sector products. This initiative is designed in such a way as to attract start-up leaders, mentors, angel investors and venture capitalists across the globe to participate and become part of Chhattisgarh growth story. Chief minister believes this initiative can provide wings to young talented people for becoming tomorrow's entrepreneurial leaders.
