Gujarat bizman goes missing after trading diamonds for Rs 25L
A 38-year-old Gujarat resident who had come to Dahisar to trade diamonds has been missing since September 8. He had sold off the diamonds for Rs 25 lakhs and was on his way back home when he last spoke to his family.

According to the police, the trader, Masararam on Thursday had come for his routine trading business after which he went missing.

Masraram’s brothers, Bhalla Ram, said, “Around 5.45 pm he had called from Bandra to inform us that he received Rs 25 lakhs from the deal. He also informed that he was on his way to Chembur as he was supposed to board a bus from there for home.”

“Again after 20 minutes we received a call from him. His voice was very low and all he said was ‘my kids, my kids’. Soon, the phone got disconnected. We tried reaching him but was unable to do so,” he added.

Following day, his family went to lodge a complaint with the Dahisar police when they were refused and asked to come after two days. But, finally a complaint was registered on Sunday.

The Dahisar police are carrying out their investigations, by checking the CCTV footages in all the railway stations across the city. They are also looking for the person with whom Masararam traded the diamonds. Along with this, they are running an investigation on his relationship with the family members and related persons because they are trying to find out if he had any differences with anyone.

According to his family, Masararam, who is survived by wife, three children and parents never discussed about his ‘diamond trading’ business at home.

The police also suspect that someone might have over heard Masararam’s conversation regarding the deal. They have also circulated his picture across all the police stations across the city.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kiran Chavan of zone 12 says, “Following the missing complaint, all the angles are being probed.”
