Kasper Schmeichel does not expect Leicester's counter-attacking approach to change when they play in the Champions League.

The Foxes will play their first game in the competition on Wednesday in Belgium against Club Brugge and Schmeichel expects Claudio Ranieri to use exactly the same style that took them to Premier League success last season.

They have had a tough start to their title defence but the Denmark 'keeper is sure they are ready for their first taste of major European club competition.

"We've done some homework on Brugge and we have an idea what they are about but we won't change too much - the success we've had, in the years I've been here, has been through us being us and playing the way we do," said Schmeichel.

"Maybe it's not for me to say but I think we've got to focus on the methods and the way we've got our success and we've come a long way and sometimes you have to take a step back and reflect.

"In my time, Leicester have come from finishing ninth in the Championship only four years ago so to be stood here as Premier League champions and looking forward to playing in the Champions League, we've done all right."

Danny Drinkwater hopes the trip to Bruges will prove just the kick-start they need, coming a handful of days after they suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat against Liverpool at the new-look Anfield.

"When we are standing in the tunnel it's going to be strange listening to the Champions League music but I'm buzzing for it," he said.

"These are the games every football fan watches and we are not just going to make up the numbers.

"It's the club's first time in the Champions League, and we don't want it to be the last, so we're going to show them what we are made of. It's a big opportunity for us as individuals and as a team.

"I don't think we need to change our approach in Europe - it's up to other teams to try to cancel out what we do."
