Drug addict ends life in Moga village

MOGA: A 31-year-old drug addict, Kanwaljit Singh, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Bhinder Kalan village of the district today.

A 31-year-old drug addict, Kanwaljit Singh, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Bhinder Kalan village of the district today.

His parents, wife and children had left him in recent years. Kanwaljit had sold most of his land to buy drugs, said his friend, Swaran Singh.

This is the third death of a drug addict during the past two weeks in the Dharamkot Assembly segment, represented by Agriculture Minister Jathedar Tota Singh.

Sukhchain Singh (25) of Manava village was found dead at Daulewala village on September 3. The police said he died due to drug overdose.

On August 31, Gurbinder Singh (20) of Rauke Kalan village died of an overdose at Daulewala village. — TNS
