Gennady Golovkin may want to get his shot at Canelo Alvarez next, but he has a mandatory challenger he may have to face first.

The World Boxing Association has issued a mandatory challenge for unified middleweight champ GGG to face off with secondary champ Daniel Jacobs. The WBA announced that the two have 30 days to negotiate a fight deal and 120 days to make it happen.

Golovkin is coming off of a TKO win over Kell Brook on Saturday in England after Brook's corner threw in the towel in the fifth round. Brook said after the fight he broke his eye socket. Jacobs also scored a TKO this week, stopping Sergio Mora in the seventh round.

Golovkin was hoping to get a shot at Billy Joe Saunders to get the one belt he has never owned -- the WBO middleweight crown. Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs) continued to maintain his "take on all challengers" mindset after his win on Saturday.

"Daniel Jacobs, he is very good fighter. Huge fight, probably in New York," Golovkin said via ESPN. "Absolutely. I am open for everybody. I think right now this is best fight for us."
