AILA reveals conference theme, speakers

The Australian Insurance Law Association has announced its national conference from October 12-14 will have the theme “game-changers”.

National President Sue Vidler says given business models are evolving at an unprecedented rate, the association has engaged speakers who are “all game-changers”.

International keynote speaker is VP and Counsel to US-based Meadowbrook Insurance Group Vicki Roberts. She leads an in-house law group that provides coverage advice and manages claims and underwriting-related litigation.

She will present the Hugh Rowell Memorial Lecture, titled Bad Faith Claims – A Cause of Action Coming to You?

Other speakers include sport and exercise medicine physician Andrew Potter, financial and risk expert Joel Pridmore of Munich Re, Professor of Law and Criminal Justice at the University of SA Rick Sarre and barrister Greg Pynt.

Ms Vidler says the conference at Adelaide Oval will feature panel discussions with industry experts.

It will open with a cocktail reception overlooking the oval. A conference dinner at the National Wine Centre will showcase SA produce.

The event is open to all involved in the insurance industry, not just association members.
