Bag Tags Supports ThinkTaylor Concussion Awareness Week
Evanston, IL (PRWEB) September 12, 2016 -- Bag Tags, Inc. will provide customized bag tags for more than 86,000 high school athletes on various sports teams in Massachusetts as part of Concussion Awareness Week, an initiative of ThinkTaylor and the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association. Concussion Awareness Week will take place from September 12-16.
This is the second year in a row that ThinkTaylor and the MIAA have joined forces to hold a weeklong concussion education and awareness program. The Concussion Legacy Foundation and Massachusetts Concussion Management Coalition have joined as partners in the initiative this year, as well.
The bag tags – which are orange, the concussion awareness theme color – will list the symptoms of a concussion and steps to take if someone displays those symptoms. Bag Tags also donated tags for more than 27,000 high school soccer players as part of Concussion Awareness Week 2015. The company plans on continuing to work with ThinkTaylor to spread concussion awareness among athletes, parents, coaches, and others. ThinkTaylor was founded by ESPN Lead Soccer Analyst, Taylor Twellman, a former Major League Soccer player who retired after suffering multiple concussions.
“As long as ThinkTaylor wants to keep using our bag tags, we are incredibly excited to work with such an amazing organization,” said Tommy Doyle, director of operations for Bag Tags. “This partnership gives us a great opportunity to advocate for the health and safety of young athletes.”
In addition to the bag tags, student athletes will receive ThinkTaylor wrist bands. The ThinkTaylor team also hosted a Concussion Awareness Night on September 3 at the New England Revolution vs. Colorado Rapids game at Gillette Stadium. Additionally, the Concussion Legacy Foundation will host Team Up Day, a program that urges athletes to “Team Up: Speak Up” to better identify and fight concussions among their team members. ThinkTaylor is also asking people to show their support for concussion awareness by taking the #TTpledge at thinktaylor.org.
