Indian paddler, Manav Thakkar emerged as the winner at the 2016 ITTF World Circuit Junior & Cadet Open in the junior boys section on Sunday.

INDORE: Indian paddler, Manav Thakkar emerged as the winner at the 2016 ITTF World Circuit Junior & Cadet Open in the junior boys section on Sunday.
In a tough battle against Tai Ling Wai of Taipei in the junior boys section finals, Manav defeated his opponent from Taipei by 4-3.
Living up to the expectations, Indian female players also clinched gold medals in the junior girls and cadet girls’ category.

In the junior girls’ section finals, Varuni Jaiswal from India emerged victorious in the individual category playing against Su Pei Ling of Taipei.
Varuni defeated her opponent by 4-3 in the finals. While, another Indian player, Ishita Gupta bagged the gold medal in the cadet girls’ section finals.
Ishita defeated her opponent Hwang Yu Jei from Taipei winning four sets out of six. However, India had to face disappointment in the cadet boys section as Manush Shah of India was defeated in the finals by Tai Wai from Taipei.
In the doubles matches of the junior boys section, India’s Anant Devrajan and Manav Thakkar defeated the pair of Laichi Chang and Tai Ming Wai by 4-3 bagging a gold medal in the category.
Meanwhile in the junior girl’s doubles matches, Wa Yei Hua and Yang Ya Yan from Taipei defeated Chan Ling Chev and Su Pei Ling also from Taipei clinching the gold medal in this category.
After the final matches in all the categories, general secretary of Table Tennis Federation of India, Dhanraj Chaudhary along with other guests from MP Table Tennis Association awarded the winners and runners-up.
