Case filed against Muslim preacher for defaming girl student

KOZHIKODE: Kunnamangalam police have registered a case against a Muslim preacher, on a complaint filed by a girl student of Markaz Law College. The police have booked Noushad Ahsani under section 119 of the Kerala police act (Punishment for atrocities against women).
According to Police, Ahsani, used the video clipping of the girl shaking hands with finance minister T M Thomas Isaac during his visit to the college and questioned it raising Sharia laws.
The finance Minister had visited the college on August 18 and interacted with the students. The girl, a winner of a quiz programme, was given away prize by the minister. He later shook hands with the girl to congratulate her. This video clipping of the programme was used by the accused allegedly to defame the girl.
The girl in a complaint alleged that the Noushad Ahsani, general secretary of Khadi Musunna used the video clipping and publically defamed her using the video during a speech on how men and women should behave.
