Users slam Outlook mag after app sends out tweets from their account without permission

Outlook magazine's app went rogue on Sunday as users reported invasion of privacy with unauthorised tweets being sent out by the app from their Twitter accounts.

Outlook magazine's app went rogue on Sunday as users reported invasion of privacy with unauthorised tweets being sent out by the app from their Twitter accounts.

Users reported that the app was using their Twitter account and sending out tweets in their name but without their permission. This seemed to be happening only to those who had downloaded Outlook's OSM app to vote in the Outlook Social Media awards.

 The app's setting reportedly allowed it to read and writing tweets. 

After receiving several complaints on Twitter, the OSM awards released a statement and issued an apology, saying their server had been hijacked.OSM awards released a statement and issued an apology, saying their server had been hijacked.
