Rajwinder Grewal alias Ravi Khwajke, 35, of Khwajke village, who was associated with Congress's student wing National Students Union of India (NSUI), was shot by miscreants during the wedding of his friend Money Buttari at Gill Garden resorts on February 20.

Giving details about the present status of the case, Ludhiana police commissioner Jatinder Singh Aulakh said after the killing of Devinder Bambiha in an encounter in Bathinda, they have started hunt for the remaining accused in the case.
Police officials said apart from the murder case registered against Devinder in Sadar police station, there is a case of preparation of dacoity case (dated July 25) against him at the same police station. They added that the accused was last seen in Ludhiana on July 24 and had managed to give police a slip at Phullanwal area after he came to know about the police movement.
Station house officer (SHO) Sadar Gurdev Singh said one of the accused Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi of Natt village, who had shown the killers the way to marriage palace where Ravi Khwajke was killed, has been arrested. He added that police had also brought Dharminder Singh alias Gugni and Kirpal Singh alias Pala on a production warrant to dole out more details in the killing of Khwajke.

Police sources said after carrying out killing of Ravi Khwajke, Bambiha might have escaped to neighbouring Moga district. They added that since then, the accused had been moving from his native district to Jagraon to Tarn Taran and Amritsar district before crossing over to Rajasthan from Bathinda side before being killed in an encounter on return.
A senior police officer said Bambiha had been using at least 10 SIM cards (all with fake address proofs) and in all probability was running WhatsApp account as well to communicate with his near ones.
