MANGALURU: B A Mohideen Poura Sanmana Samiti will felicitate former higher education minister B A Mohideen with the Devaraj Urs award at Town Hall on Thursday. K R Ramesh Kumar, minister for health and family welfare and a contemporary of Mohideen, will deliver the felicitation address and mayor Harinath M will chair the function, noted Ivan D'Souza, chief whip of the government in the state legislative council here on Saturday.

The samiti has invited 82 prominent personalities from the erstwhile undivided Dakshina Kannada district including Udupi and they consist of elected representatives, officials, religious heads, physicians, heads of cultural and literary bodies as guests, Ivan said. This is a tribute to a person who has devoted his entire political career in serving the downtrodden and is currently serving many institutions in an honorary capacity as an advisor.
The samiti has invited B Ramanath Rai, minister for forest, environment and ecology, M C Nanaiah, former minister and Dinesh Amin Mattu, media adviser to the CM to dwell on the life and works of Mohideen. A documentary on Mohideen readied by Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy will be released and exhibited on this occasion.
