It has already been a year for Dustin Johnson to remember. A U.S. Open title. A WGC win at the Bridgestone Invitational. Another Ryder Cup invite. And a real chance at the $10 million first prize at the Tour Championship in a few weeks. He might have an addition to that embarrassment of riches as he leads the BMW Championship by three strokes after 54 holes.

Johnson shot a 68 on Saturday in a weather-delayed round at Crooked Stick to back up his course-record 63 on Friday. He leads by three over Paul Casey, four over J.B. Holmes, and six over Roberto Castro. Those are likely the only players with a chance to catch him barring a complete meltdown on Sunday.

He actually needed birdies on four of his last five holes to take the three-shot lead going into the final 18 holes.

"I'm seeing the lines really well [on the greens] and feel like I've got pretty good speed," Johnson told Golf Channel. "The [new] putter is working. It's just going where I'm looking which is the only thing I look for."

"The new putter" would be this black TaylorMade Spider mallet. He is No. 1 in the field in strokes gained putting this week, which makes him nearly unbeatable. He's actually only No. 3 in the field off the tee, but it doesn't matter with the way he's rolling it. More of that on Sunday, and it's win No. 3 for Johnson this season and likely a PGA Tour Player of the Year Award.

As for whether Johnson can shut it down on Sunday, he has a decent history of doing so, but he also hasn't been in this position in a while. With the white-hot Casey and Holmes -- who is chasing a Ryder Cup spot -- are right on his heels, Sunday's action should be terrific.
