Sanguem music school to organize singing contest

PANAJI:Fr Agnel school of Music and Performing Arts, Sanguem and Curchorem, affiliated to the Goa Province of the Society of Pilar, will organise ‘Mhozo Tallo Aikat’, an all-Goa singing competition of Konkani songs for youngsters between the age group of 15 to 25 years.
The contest is being held to mark the completion of 10 years of the music school.
Auditions for the competition will be conducted at five Agonda, Sanguem, Margao, Penha de Franca and Mapusa.
The semi finals will be held on October 23 at the Ravindra Bhavan, Curchorem, and the finals are slated for November 8 at Kala Academy, Panaji.
The competition will be held in three categories - solo, duets and trio, and prizes ranging from 10,000 to 30,000 will be awarded to the winners.
Entry forms are available at Furtados (Margao/Panaji), Tiatr Academy of Goa, Gomant Vidya Niketan (ticket counter), St Theresa’s Church – Canacona, Pinto’s Village Library - Candolim, Mount Carmel Church - Arambol, St Michael’s Church - Anjuna, St Jerome’s Church - Mapusa, St Ann’s Church - Ponda, Penha de Franca Church - Britona, Miracles Church – Sanguem and St Ann’s Church - Agonda. Last date for submission of forms is September 15.
