Porbandar court extends 7-day custody of RDX landing accused
RAJKOT: Porbandar court on Friday evening extended seven-day police custody to Dadlimiyan alias Jusabmiyan Panjumiyan Bukhari, one of the main accused, in the Gosabara RDX and arms landing case of 1993. Dadlimiyan is the brother of Umar Ismail Bukhari alias Mamumiya Panjumiya acquitted in the case by the special TADA court earlier this year.
Local Crime Branch of Porbandar produced Dadlimiyan before court after completing three-day police custody and demanded more custody interrogation of accused for further interrogation.
Court granted seven-day custody to Porbandar police for probe. Police wants to take him to Mumbai in this case.
Dadlimiyan had escaped to Dubai and lived there for 22 years. However, he had shifted to Mumbai four years ago and was living with a fake identity. He was living with his wife's sister and was engaged in scrap business for the last four years.
Dadlimiyan had married a Bengali woman, who died few years ago. He is also an accused in an offence under the Arms Act registered in Dhoraji and Jamnagar. After receiving specific info about him, an LCB team kept watch and nabbed him from his house in Virar (east).
LCB sources said that 15 persons, including Dawood Ibrahim and Abu Salem are still absconding in the case while 50 have been arrested. The explosives, which were smuggled through Porbandar coast, were allegedly used to trigger serial blasts in Mumbai in 1993. Mamumiya is also awaiting trial in the Gosabara RDX landing case. However, he was acquitted in the 1993 Valsad RDX landing case in 2013.
