KANPUR: A quack in Bharthana area of Etawah in UP has been charged with abducting a girl after luring her with the promise of free medical tests. The police have registered an FIR while the accused is absconding.
Police said the girl's brother, who live in a locality under Bharthana Kotwali jurisdiction, has alleged that one Agnesh Dubey allegedly abducted his ailing 16-year-old sister.
On Thursday, Agnesh visited my house to treat my ailing sister. He later took her to a nearby nursing home on the pretext of conducting free medical tests. However, till late Thursday night they did not return home, the girl's brother told police in his complaint.
As Agnesh had also been missing since the disappearance of the girl, the complainant alleged that he had abducted her with the connivance of his family members.
The police have registered an FIR under sections 363, 366 and 120 B of IPC against the alleged quack who is a native of Auraiya.
SO Bharthna Kotwali Dinesh Kumar said a police team has been constituted to look into the matter and trace the missing duo. Preliminary investigations revealed that the girl's parents had gone to Rajasthan while her siblings had gone out to work when the incident took place. "Raids are continuing at the possible hideouts of the accused.
