BS Yeddyurappa will inaugurate state-level
Slum Morcha executive meeting at Oriole Resort, located at the foot of
Chamundi Hill on Sunday.
Addressing media on Friday, R Raghu, general secretary, BJP state Slum Morcha, said, "Mysuru city was, for the second consecutive year, declared cleanest city in the country. Yet there are 134 slums across the city, among which, 104 are recognized by corporation officials.
Over 15,967 families and 79,000 people reside in these slums, who face many problems including lack of toilet facilities."
"During the meeting, the problems of these people will be discussed. We will act like a bridge between the slum dwellers and the government, and try to solve their problems at the earliest," he added.
He said over 200 representatives of slum morcha across the state will take part i n the meeting.
Senior BJP leaders including DV
Sadananda Gowda, union minister for statistics and programme implementation, MP Pratap Simha, MLC Vijayshankar and CT Ravi will be part of the programme. Yeddyurappa will inaugurate the event at 10.30am.
