HYDERABAD: Task Force sleuths arrested three persons and seized counterfeit currency of Rs 11.95 lakh face value from them on Friday.
Md Ghouse, 50, a fruit vendor from Bandlaguda, Shareeful Sheikh and Jahanara Bibi from Malda district in West Bengal were nabbed near Charminar.
Fake notes in the denomination of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500, a scooter and two cellphones were seized from them.

Task Force inspector A Yadgiri said prime accused Ghouse was released from prison on bail about two months ago after which he contacted Malda-based counterfeit currency supplier Babloo Sheikh. Babloo then sent Rs 12 lakh worth fake notes to Hyderabad through his mother Jahanara Bibi and brother-in-law Shareeful Sheikh.
They were held while exchanging money near Charminar. "The counterfeit currency is of high quality. We suspect that it was printed in certain neighbouring countries. Babloo is yet to be arrested," Task Force additional DCP N Koti Reddy said.
