AAP leaders lodge defamation case against party MLA Devender Sehrawat

In the joint complaint against Sehrawat, they alleged he was damaging the image of the party at the behest of the Opposition.

Sehrawat had written to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, allegedly saying that complainants were indulging in sexual exploitation of women aspirants for tickets from various constituencies in Punjab.

In another, the duo alleged that Pavittar Singh and Lakhwinder Kaur had been repeatedly asking them to issue an AAP ticket to Lakhwinder Kaur from Phillaur for the 2017 Vidhan Sabha elections. Thereafter, the accused held a press conference earlier this year, wherein the accused said that Singh and Pathak had demanded Rs 50 lakh for the said seat.

In the complaint filed by Pathak against Kingra, the comlainant said Kingra resigned when he came to know he would not get ticket from Faridkot. Kingra then held a press conference on September 1 in Chandigarh wherein he played an audio recording, purportedly between AAP worker from Samrala, Paramjit Dhillon and party’s Ludhiana sector observer Ambrish Trikha. In the said audio, Trikha is purportedly heard asking Dhillon that he will have to pay Rs 5 lakh per month to meet Pathak.

In the separate complaint filed by Singh, it was stated that in the same press conference, Kingra stated that a member of fund raising committee, Surinder Singh Arora, collected Rs 6 lakh and deposited only Rs 1 lakh to the party account and gave Rs 5 lakh to the complainant.
