YAMUNANAGAR: Health Minister Anil Vij has recommended the suspension of an official of the Municipal Corporation (MC), Yamunanagar-Jagadhri, for issuing a non-objection certificate (NOC) to a person for running the wholesale business of fire crackers from a godown at an unauthorised colony in Jagadhri.

Yamunanagar, September 9

Health Minister Anil Vij has recommended the suspension of an official of the Municipal Corporation (MC), Yamunanagar-Jagadhri, for issuing a non-objection certificate (NOC) to a person for running the wholesale business of fire crackers from a godown at an unauthorised colony in Jagadhri.

Vij was here today to preside over the meeting of the Grievance Redressal Committee at the Mini-Secretariat. The meeting was attended by Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Das Arora, DC SS Phulia, SP Munish Chaudhry and other officers.

In the meeting, Virender Kamboj of Mali Majra village alleged the officer had issued the NOC to a person of Yamunanagar for running the business at an unauthorised colony near Bhagwangarh village of Jagadhri. He said when the MC could not pass a site map in an unauthorised colony, how could they issue an NOC for running business at an unauthorised colony.

Vij asked the ADC to inquire the matter and find out the official responsible. He further recommended suspending the officer found guilty. He also asked the SP to appoint a DSP to inquire the allegations of corruption levelled against Sanitary Inspector Anil Nain by another complainant Mohinder Gagat.

In all, 17 complaints were heard at the grievance redressal meeting, of which many were disposed of. He said 84 government hospitals across the state would be upgraded with all medical equipment.—TNS
