Brotherhood marathon in Kangra tomorrow

KANGRA: Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari branch, Kangra, in collaboration with Student Central Association, Dr RPGMC, Tanda, will organise ‘Universal Brotherhood Marathon’ on September 11 here.

Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari branch, Kangra, in collaboration with Student Central Association, Dr RPGMC, Tanda, will organise ‘Universal Brotherhood Marathon’ on September 11 here.

The event will be observed as Universal Brotherhood Day to commemorate the historical speech delivered by Swami Vivekananda on September 11, 1893, at the world religious conference at Chicago in the USA.

Dr Naveen Sharma, Vice Convener, said today that the marathon would start at 9 am from Tehsil Chowk of Kangra town, move through the Kangra bypass and Bhanganga and culminate at Dr RPGMC, Tanda. He said a one-hour Universal Brotherhood Day celebration programme would also be held at the auditorium of the medical college.

A 93-year-old freedom fighter of the INA would also be honoured, he added. —OC
