Bengaluru girl
Sanam Shetty recently announced that she was debuting in Kannada cinema with
Vara opposite
Avinash Narasimharaju, after doing films in other south Indian languages. And now, the young actress is elated that she's got her second film in Sandalwood, even before her debut hits screens. 'It looks like I finally have a foothold in Kannada cinema,' she says and adds, 'I have been signed up as the lead in the film
Atharva, which is the debut vehicle of
Pavan Teja,who is
Arjun Sarja's nephew.
The film, a thriller, is directed by newbie Arun. I play a journalist in the film and the character is quite pivotal to the story, as something she unearths as part of her job becomes the main plot point. There's also a romantic track to the tale,' says Sanam, who joins the set by the end of September.
