Rajnath Singh dedicates 'ICGS Sarathi'

Vasco, Sep 9 (UNI) The maritime security of India got a significant fillip with the induction of the third in the series of the new 105M offshore patrol vessel (OPV) 'ICGS Sarathi' in the Indian Coast Guard, built by Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL) using its in-house design.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh dedicated 'ICGS Sarathi', the largest and most advanced new generation OPV to the nation at an impressive ceremony held at GSL today in the presence of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Deputy Chief Minister Francis Dsouza, Coast Guard Director General Rajendra Singh, South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar and Goa Ministers Alina Saldanha and Carlos Almieda.
The induction of 'ICGS Sarathi' will help meet the increasing requirement of the Coast Guard for undertaking policing and patrolling of the vast Indian Exclusive Economic Zone.
