As soon as the clock struck 6 in the evening, he rushed out to find eateries pulling their shutters up. He said, “I had to wait all day for a cup of coffee and it was such a relief”
Shops, both big and small pulled up their shutters on late Friday evening and they didn't have to wait long for customers to pour in.

Manjunath D, a traffic cop at lifestyle junction, Victoria Road which is clogged with traffic at any given time said, “On any other day, I cannot move from my designated spot, the traffic is so bad. But today was blissful. There was no traffic to monitor. But we know it will go back to normal in the evening”.
Parveez who is a 2nd year college student and also works part time in a mall on Victoria Road clocked in extra hours of study. “It was a smooth ride to work with no traffic at all. And people are finally coming out now”.
Karthik N, resident of Ulsoor who couldn't go for his morning 5 km run in fear of hooligans, instead stepped out at 5:30 pm and ran without fear. Likewise, evening walkers got out a bit late but didn't miss their evening walks on Friday.
Malls in the city also opened after 6pm but most wore a deserted look with only 50% staff attendance. Simona G, techie, who went to a mall in Kormangala said, “ It felt like a week day because there were very few shoppers but it was a pleasant experience as I could shop peacefully!”
