Jovanka Vuckovic to direct 'Riot Girls'

Clique Pictures announced on the first day of the Toronto Film Festival that Canadian filmmaker Jovanka Vuckovic ("XX") will direct the upcoming post-apocalyptic film, "Riot Girls," reports Variety.

The film is part queer romance, part survivalist horror story, as a threesome set out to release a boy who's been captured by rivals.

"Riot Girls," scripted by Katherine Collins, is currently casting.

Besides her work on "XX" -- an all-female horror flick -- Vuckovic won the 2012 Fantasia Film Festival Best Short award for "The Captured Bird."
