North Korean earthquake a suspected explosion: China Earthquake Networks Center

BEIJING (Reuters) - The China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) said an earthquake detected in North Korea on Friday was due to a suspected explosion. The CENC said on its website the earthquake was detected at 0830 a.m local time (0030 GMT) on Friday and occurred on the earth's surface. The information was also reported by the China Earthquake Administration, a government body that reports to the country's cabinet. (Reporting by Beijing Monitoring Desk; Editing by Paul Tait)
