Why Ramona could never be with a man like LuAnn’s fiancé

It’s easy to see how Ramona Singer and LuAnn de Lesseps both fell for Thomas D’Agostino Jr.

“Tom overall is a very gregarious person and he’s fun to be with, he has a lot of charm,” Singer told Page Six of de Lesseps’ fiancé on Wednesday.

Before popping the question to de Lesseps in February, D’Agostino Jr. had dated Singer and fellow “Real Housewives of New York” co-star Sonja Morgan. While the seriousness of his trysts with the ladies was heavily debated throughout the show’s eighth season, Singer shared that she could never marry a man who previously had romantic relations with her closest pals.

“I could never be with someone whose fiancé was sexually active with some of my best friends, I just couldn’t go there,” said Singer, 59. “Would I be happy in that situation? Absolutely not. But you know what, different strokes for different folks.”

De Lesseps’ relationship was rocked by a cheating scandal when D’Agostino Jr. was caught kissing another woman on the eve of their engagement party. The fallout from the revelation aired during the show’s season finale last month, as co-star Bethenny Frankel presented de Lesseps, 51, with photographic proof of her future husband’s indiscretion. Despite the drama, Singer believes the high-profile pair are meant for each other.

“Maybe it’s going to be a match made in heaven,” Singer said. “Dorinda [Medley] said they’re both alike so maybe this is what their relationship is going to be all about, I don’t know. I don’t judge anymore.”

Though Singer isn’t sure if she’ll score an invite to de Lesseps’ New Year’s Eve nuptials, divorced Singer could have a plus-one before the couple says “I do.”

“I’ve been going out on a lot of dates, but no one that I’ve gotten involved with on an intimate level or a meaningful level,” she explained. “You know, just being in the company of wonderful men.”

After her 25-year marriage to Mario Singer unraveled in August 2014, Singer has figured out what she wants in a potential partner.

“I really would like someone who has been married before because I believe in marriage, and whether I get married again or not, someone who’s been married before can relate to me. That means they understand commitment,” she said. “I’m meditating on it and if you throw it out in the universe, hopefully it will come.”

“The Real Housewives of New York City” three-part reunion special concludes Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
