Gandhian social activist Anna Hazare is not happy with the way Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party has progressed as an alternative to other political groups in the country. The increasing number of wrongdoings in the party has affected him so much that the veteran social crusader is mulling to launch an agitation against his one-time protege Kejriwal.
Speaking to reporters at his village Ralegan Siddhi on Wednesday, Hazare had said that he would launch an agitation against Kejriwal if he found concrete evidence of wrongdoing against the AAP chief.
Hazare, Kejriwal and Prashant Bhushan were once the brains behind an anti-corruption agitation across the country in 2011. The agitation for Jan Lokpal Bill eventually led to the birth of AAP but Hazare dissociated himself from the political set up, fearing the predicaments of politics. Bhushan was thrown out of the party last year.
Hazare continues to maintain that he has no doubt the personal character of Kejriwal. However, he said that the Delhi CM’s reputation has taken a beating because of the people he inducted in AAP to win power. Hazare suggested that Kejriwal should give up power and serve the country again.
Pointing out that Kejriwal’s party is no more different than other parties, Hazare said the AAP chief wouldn’t have faced this problem if he had included good people in the party.
