Give up power: Anna Hazare tells Kejriwal

PUNE: The agitation for Lokpal Bill had brought them together.But alleged wrongdoing of Arvind Kejriwal's ministers is distancing him from Anna Hazare.

The social crusader said on Wednesday he would start an agitation against his one-time most trusted colleague -Kejriwal -in the capital if he got concrete evidence of wrongdoing against AAP ministers.

Hazare said he did not have doubts about Kejriwal's character. "But his reputation has been damaged because of the people he took in the party to win. If he wishes to win over the confi dence of people again, he should give up power and serve the nation," he said.

"Kejriwal's AAP is going to contest the Punjab elections but the voters will take into consideration the current turn of events while making the decision about whom to give their votes,“ Hazare said, adding that it was unfortunate that reports had surfaced about women being exploited in exchange for tickets in Punjab.

"Had Kejriwal selected people of good character in his party, he would not have faced this problem," the Gandhian said.

Now there was no difference between other parties and AAP, he added. "I had hoped that something good will happen because Kejriwal has a good character," he said.
