KARACHI: Doctors performed two successful surgeries on Monday morning at Landhi, Kidney Centre which has been made functional after nine years. According to a statement issued here on Monday, Advisor to Chief Minister (CM) Sindh on Labour, Senator Saeed Ghani has said the only Kidney Centre which is running under Sindh Employees Social Security Institution (SESSI) remained un-operational for many years. Ghani felicitated the doctors and paramedical staff for not only carrying out successful surgeries but also getting the Landhi Kidney Centre functional within shortest time. “Immense efforts were being made to bring the reforms with special focus to improve the performance of the medical and education facilities for the workers and their families”. Medical Superintendent Landhi Kidney Centre Shah Muhammad Noonari said that Centre has been revived only due to keen interest and support of Advisor Labour, Ghani, adding that two to three operations will be performed on daily basis besides over twenty patients would be provided dialysis facilities daily. He added that dialysis machines at the Landhi Kidney Center will be increased from ten to twenty. Noonari said that Department of Urology is being upgraded with latest machines, trained technicians, paramedical staff and other required facilities.
