Addressing the retrenched daily rated and voucher employees of the Public Works Department who resorted to a fast near the Swadeshi Cotton Mill premises demanding their immediate reinstatement, Mr Rangasamy regretted that the Congress government which came to power by promising employment for atleast one member of every family has gone ahead and retrenched employees . Even those who had served for several years were removed and demanded to know under what rules they have been sent out.
