Una: The CID-Crime investigating the sensational Dalit flogging case of Mota Samdhiyana village in Una taluka of Gir-Somnath district today arrested 4 police personnel including the then Police Inspector of Una and a lady ASI in this connection while it also filed the much awaited charge-sheet in this case in the court here.

PI of Una G S Vaghela said that the crime branch arrested the then PI Nirmalsinh, PSI Narendra Pandey, ASI Kanchanben Parmar and head constable Kanjibhai Chudasama from here today.
‘They all have been labelled with charges of negligence of their duties,’ he said.

So far a total of 43 arrests (including that of the four police personnel) have been made in this case including a minor boy.

Meanwhile, the CID-crime team investigating the matter today filed the over 1500 page charge sheet in the court here. The then chief minister Mrs Anadiben Patel had ordered the probe by CID crime days after the incident came to fore in July this year through a video which went viral.

The incident had caused much uproar across the nation with violent protests by Dalit outfits all over Gujarat. Many leaders had visited Gujarat to meet the victims.
