MADURAI: Ministers Sellur K Raju and RB Udayakumar presided over a review meeting on the implementation of various schemes of the Tamil Nadu government in Madurai district on Tuesday.
With the state government laying stress on the development of villages, the revenue department had conducted 'Amma thittam' camps between April 2, 2013 to August 19, 2016.
Over 1.83 lakh petitions were received and 1.09 lakh of them were disposed. As many as 1,25,862 people from various blocks of the district enrolled for Aadhaar registration till September 5, 2016.
Green houses, powered by solar power, are under construction at a cost of 14.88 crore for 8,374 beneficiaries. Construction of individual toilets, anganwadis and other schemes were also reviewed.
Under the poverty alleviation scheme, 89,488 free goats were issued to 22,372 beneficiaries at a cost of 28.99 crore. Other schemes implemented using the MLA and MP development fund were also reviewed at the meeting.
Madurai MP R Gopalakrishnan, additional collector Rohini Ramdoss, Madurai corporation commissioner Sandeep Nanduri, MLAs among others participated.
