Offence registered against Mahant Gyandas

Offence registered against Mahant Gyandas
NASHIK: The district court here has registered an offence against the chief of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad, Gyandas Maharaj, for alleged molestation following a complaint by Mahadev Vaikunthdham Muktidwar Akhada (Pari) Peethadhishwar, Trikalbhavanta
During the flag hoisting programme of the Kumbh Mela at Ramkund on July 14 last year, Trikalbhavanta took to the mike and tried to speak after the delegates had finished their speech.
But Gyandas allegedly took objection to it and snatched the mike from her.
The followers of the sadhvi had accused Gyandas of not allowing her to speak. The microphone was silenced and the National Anthem was sung, marking the conclusion of the flag hoisting ceremony, they alleged.
She then complained to the Panchavati police station, alleging molestation against the Mahant. After failing to get help from government officials she filed a case through her lawyer.
On September 3, the court ordered that a case be registered against Gyandas.
"Gyandas will be sent notice. He would seek bail and only after that hearings would take place," Trikalbhavanta said.
While Gyandas was unavailable for comment his aides said, "We have not yet received any notice. We will think what to do after we receive it."
