GANDHINAGAR: Former Congress MP from Patan and prominent Thakor community leader Jagdish Thakor, resigned from party posts. Sources said he is complaining about the 'autocratic style' of functioning of the state party president, Bharatsinh Solanki.
Thakor wrote a letter to Bharatsinh Solanki and leader of opposition in the state assembly, Shankarsinh Vaghela, resigning from all the official posts of the state Congress.
However, he has not resigned from the primary membership of the party. Solanki and Vaghela rushed to Thakor's house to request him to withdraw his resignatin but Thakor declined to take it back.
When contacted, Thakor said he had resigned from all party poss. "However, I have not resigned from the party's primary membership. I will continue as a Congress worker and never leave the party," Thakor said.
When asked about his sudden decision, Thakor declined to give the exact reason. However, he said that he was not happy with the way the party's working in the state.
"Hence, I decided to resign from all the posts I held in the party," he said. tnn
