NEW DELHI: A Navy admiral’s mother’s bag was stolen while she was sitting at a coffee shop in Mehar Chand market with her friends , metres away from south Delhi’s Lodhi Colony police station.
Police said that the bag, which contained approximately Rs. 60,000, was lying unattended in a corner.
As she was about to pay the bill, the woman, Meena Mathur, realised her bag was missing
She then raised an alarm and when the bag could not be found even after a thorough search, she called up her son and informed him about the incident, who in turn called up the police.

Apart from cash, the bag reportedly contained an Aadhar card, ATM cards and a blank signed cheque which she had to hand over to her son in the evening.
A team of police reached the coffee shop soon after and the CCTV footage recoverd from the shop was examined.
“We have registered a complaint and have launched an investigation into the matter. We hope to nab the accused soon.”.
